In his current role, Mark offers psychological services with an aim to enrich mental health and foster overall well-being. His distinctive approach merges traditional psychological methodologies with lifestyle-focused strategies, ensuring a well-rounded, comprehensive approach to mental health care.

Background

Having personally navigated health challenges, Mark developed a keen interest in Lifestyle Medicine - the impact of lifestyle on health. Following a transformative personal journey through lifestyle changes, Mark now guides others  to improve their mental health  by using psychological and lifestyle interventions.

Mark is a solution-oriented practitioner with a pragmatic approach. His client sessions are interactive, focussed on identifying desired outcomes and formulating interventions to achieve these goals. He promotes the use of online eHealth courses as supplementary to therapy sessions and employs health behaviour monitoring tools as required.

Mark's expertise also extends to sexuality and sexual health, stemming from his tenure as the past president of the Australian Society of Sex Educators and Therapists (ASSERT) and co-founding Australia’s first Graduate Diploma in Sexual Health with Professor Basil Donovan.

His managerial roles with NSW Health and NSW Cancer Institute have furnished him with a robust understanding of the health sector. His MBA enhances his strategic thinking and his management capabilities in health policy, as evidenced during his time at Indivior.

Mark has recently completed the requirements for a  Master in Lifestyle Medicine, further deepening his knowledge in his field of interest.

His affiliations include memberships with the Australian Psychology Society (APS), APS College of Health Psychologists, and the Australian Society of Sex Educators and Therapists. He is also  the convenor of the APS-Transpersonal Psychology Interest Group.

To assist in furthering his knowledge, Mark was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2003.

His career continues to be dedicated to understanding the intricate links between lifestyle, mental health, and overall wellbeing, assisting individuals in navigating their unique health journeys.
